Qualifications : Students on general leave (four leaves per semester) and students on recommended leave

  • Master's program: within two semesters, Doctoral program: within three semesters, Joint Master’s and Doctoral program: within four semesters
  • Graduate School of Medicine: six semesters for master's program, three semesters for doctoral program, and four semesters for joint master’s and doctoral program
  • Graduate School of Law: four semesters for master's and academic doctoral program, and three semesters for professional doctoral program

※ Approval must be obtained after visiting (or contacting via phone) the head of department (head professor) for consultation
Continuous leave of absence ※ Complete by applying for continuous leave of absence in the Gaesin Nuri System
Leave of absence for enlistment

Apply for leave online by attaching a notice of enlistment (JPG scan file, 500 kbytes or less) in the Gaesin Nuri System
※ School visit is not required
Recommended leave of absence After consulting the head professor, submit the application for recommended leave, reason, and evidence to the department

※ Leave of absence due to illness is included in general leave of absence, and a confirmation of the submission of a medical certificate (4 weeks or more) must be submitted.

※ Cancellation is not possible after application for leave, so please be careful when applying.

Procedure for handling the application for recommended leave of absence

  • Student : After filling out the application for recommended leave and letter with reasons, visit the head professor for consultation
  • Head Professor (head of department): Describe the content of consultation, the recommended leave, and the period of recommended leave of absence.

Matters requiring your cooperation

In each college (department), if a person acting on your behalf is appointed because of domestic or overseas business trips, etc., by the head professor, please inform the graduate school, and the head of the department (head professor) must enter and approve the entry and approval it in the Gaesin Nuri system after consulting with the student applying for leave of absence.

Please note:

  • After applying for general leave, be sure to check whether the head professor (head of department) has approved the application..
  • Newly admitted graduate students and readmitted students can apply for leave only after the entrance date in March when the register is created.
  • If you are not reinstated, you will be expelled, so be sure to check the period of leave and reinstatement.
  • For students on recommended leave and readmitted students, the period of leave before re-admission is not counted.
  • In the case of students who did not attend, the grade will be processed as F after 1/4 of the number of school days, so be sure to apply for general leave of absence during the fourth period.
  • If you miss the period of leave and can take continuous leave of absence: If you are a student who is eligible for general leave, the person in charge of leave and reinstatement must apply on the basis of the official letter of consultation on continuous leave and evidence.
  • The date of leave is based on the application date, not the semester.
