Eligibility

  • Since it is an eligibility test for dissertation submission in graduate school, a student can take it at their own discretion.

Period : Two times per year (Feb, Aug)

Types of Tests

  • English test administered by department or college
  • Test scores for TOEIC, TOEFL, TEPS, Korean (international students) proficiency tests above a certain test score
  • Completion of an alternative course for the foreign language test at the graduate school operated by the International Exchange Headquarters

* The second foreign language test (choose one of German, French, Chinese, Korean, and Japanese) can be taken by doctoral program students and joint program students at the request of the department
* The second foreign language test is only for the Department of Korean Language and Literature. The test for the Department of History, Department of Archaeological Art History and Department of Education has been abolished.
* Extension of eligibility test for dissertation submission (foreign language) substitution: Includes approval at the time of dissertation presentation (regarding dissertation assessment)

* The validity period of the certificate of a foreign language evaluation agency is 2 years from the date of the test.
* If an application is made for a doctoral program with a certificate that has been approved substitute in the master's program, it will not be approved.

Acceptance Criteria

Tests are conducted by program and academic field. A student who scores more than 60 points out of 100 points will pass the test. An international student can choose Korean, and a second foreign language can be exempted.

Please note:

  • The eligibility test for dissertation submission is irrelevant to the completion of master's and doctoral programs. It is a test that grants eligibility to the submission of degree dissertation.
  • The criteria for a master's program will apply to a student who drops out of a joint program.
  • Cancellation of registration may occur due to mishandling of the comprehensive information system.
  • A photo must be registered to take the test. If a photo is not registered, scan it as a JPG file and submit it by e-mail to the person in charge in the academic application department(register the photo before the application deadline).
  • Joint program student: Test acceptance in a master's program will be accepted. (because the ID number in the master's program is the same as that in the doctoral program without being separated).
  • The registration status and announcement of successful applicants will be notified in two ways.
